Progressive Blackjack: Learn to Play
Progressive Blackjack is a very exciting game since it takes the card game one step further and gives it the excitement of a jackpot. The player would always be competing against the dealer and the objective of the game too is similar to that of traditional blackjack.
The objective is to beat the total of the dealer without exceeding 21. However, in progressive blackjack, the player does not need a 21 to beat the dealer and to be a winner. In a single hand, the player can win a significant amount of money.
How to play progressive blackjack
Progressive blackjack is initially played in the same way as blackjack. The bet is to be placed and the player would be dealt two cards facing up. The dealer would receive one face down card and one face up card. After this stage, the player can decide to hit or stand. Then the cards would be received and the results would be announced.
Payouts
In progressive blackjack a winning hand would be paid 1 to 1, an insurance bet would be paid 2 to 1 and blackjack would be paid 3 to 2.
Progressive jackpot
In order to get a chance to win the progressive jackpot in this game, the player would have to place a $1 bonus bet. This has to be placed before the hand is being dealt. The bonus would be paid after all the cards have been dealt and the initial wagers have been settled. Players would then either receive a bonus if they are dealt either one or more aces. The size would determine on the number of aces and the suit.
- Four aces in the same color would be paid 100% of the meter.
- Three suited aces would receive a bonus of $2500
- Any four aces would be paid $1,500
- Three aces in the same color would be paid $250
- Any three aces would be paid $100
- 2 suited aces would be paid $50
- 2 aces in the same color would get $10
- Any two aces would be paid $5
- One ace would get $1
Progressive blackjack is paid with a standard deck of 52 cards. Also, the value of the aces would be either 1 or 11, whichever is better. The face cards would have a value of 10 and all the other cards would have their numbered values. If the total of the hand is more than 21, the player would bust and lose the bet.
The player can split any hands but in case of aces, the player would only get one additional card. Also, while doubling down, the player would again be dealt just one additional card. Insurance would pay 2 to 1 and if the dealer does not have a blackjack, the player would lose the money.
These were the basic rules of progressive blackjack. You can read more information about this blackjack variation here. The game is quite similar to blackjack but there are fantastic bonuses which are paid to the players which makes it very interesting.
