21 Duel blackjack
- This game is played with six decks and the player would first be dealt one up and two down cards.
- The dealer would be dealt two down cards and there would be two communal cards in the middle of the table.
- The player will then have to either fold, use the up card and one from the communal cards in order to start the hand. If the communal card is chosen, the bet would be double.
- The player can also decide to stand or hit and the down card would be turned over which would become a part of the hand.
- Then, the dealer would reveal one of the cards and choose the communal hand. For 17 or more, the dealer would stand.
- However, the interesting thing to note is that there is no blackjack in the game.
Blackjack progressive
- With progressive blackjack game, the dealer will always stand on all the 17s.
- The player can split the hands. However, re-splitting the hands is not allowed. Also, the aces can be split.
- When the player splits the aces, one more card would be dealt for each hand after which the player will have to stand.
- If the player has a split ace along with a card with a value of ten, it would just be counted as a 21 and not blackjack.
- When the player decides to double down, he/she will have to place an extra bet equal to the original bet.
- The player is allowed to double even after a split. However, doubling down after a blackjack has been dealt is not allowed.
- No surrender option is available.
Blackjack surrender
Casinos like surrender for sure; even Arnold Snyder wrote about this fact in his article of 1990. But we speak here not about surrender as one of players' steps at blackjack but as one of on line blackjack variant. So, what is blackjack surrender?
- In blackjack surrender the dealer will always stand on 17.
- The player can split any pair but not re-split. The split aces would only get one additional card. A split ace with a ten would not be counted as a blackjack but just as a 21.
- Players can double down on any cards even after splitting them. Doubling down would mean that an extra bet would have to be placed equal to the original bet.
- Also, if the dealer shows an ace after doubling down and if the dealer gets a blackjack, both the bets would be lost. However, if the player doubles down when the dealer shows a ten, and if then the dealer gets a blackjack, the double down bet would be given back to the player.
- Insurance is available to the player when the dealer has an ace.
- Surrendering early is allowed in the game and half of the bet would be lost in that case.
